Situated in the large village of Spondon, The Laurels is very much part of the local community, which has several shops, churches and a village hall.

The home has 43 comfortable bedrooms, most are en-suite and all have an emergency call system in place, for the added peace if mind. All rooms also come with television and telephone points.

Some bedrooms have patio doors leading to a peaceful outside seating area, where residents can relax in the warmer weather.

There are three spacious lounges for residents to use as they wish, and the home also boasts both front and rear landscaped gardens for residents to enjoy in the warmer weather.

The spacious dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere for residents to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

As well as a number of activities within the home including arts and crafts and gentle exercise sessions, the team regularly take residents on trips out; to the local fish and chip shop for lunch, on boat trips or simply to the local bingo hall and garden centre. The Laurels is also often visited by guest speakers and entertainers and well as local school children and choirs.

We aim to empower residents to make their own choices about how they live their lives.

We believe that every individual irrespective of their physical, social or psychological condition has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and supported to maintain choice and control over their own lives.

We understand that people bring with them a life story of achievements, events and life experiences and know that this information is essential to ensure a tailored care package for each individual’s specific needs.

We ensure that our person-centred assessments are all tailored to the whole person and we will look at what people can do, not just what they need assistance with. Most importantly we ensure that the individual themselves and their loved ones help us to put together a bespoke plan of care. We appreciate how difficult the decision is to move into permanent or even short stay care and we aim to make this transition as easy as possible.
