The Royal Oak is a warm and friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of the Derbyshire village of Ockbrook. We serve quality home cooked food lunchtimes and evenings, as well as award winning cask ales.

Since being built in 1762, it has remained a public house. The Royal Oak has been run by the Wilson family since the coronation year of 1953, and as a free house since 1989.

We have been awarded the Derby CAMRA ‘Country Pub of the Year’ 2000, in the same year winning East Midlands pub of the year. More recently we were Derby CAMRA ‘Country Pub of the Year’ a remarkable three years running – in 2011, 2012 2013 and again in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Runner up in 2014, 2018 and 2019.

We serve delicious high quality food including à la carte meals, light snacks and bar snacks, we also make our very own desserts. Our meals are made from local, seasonally sourced produce.
 

We offer a variety of cask ales, with one permanent – being Bass – and three to four constantly changing guest ales. We also stock real cider, draught and bottled. We have a fine wine selection, and serve gluten free and non alcoholic beer. We have an excellent range of soft drinks.
